Writing quote for January 1, 2008

Great is the art of beginning, but greater is the art of ending.

-- Longfellow

Quote for January 1, 2008 ('cause I won't be around tomorrow.)

Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.

--Meister Eckhart

I never met a tree I didn't love

or hug. . .

in 2008, I'll be photographing less trees, but for now. . .

Are you as ready as me for this year to end????

It was a good year in sooooo many ways, but still so much I've yet to accomplish/complete. Very frustrating. Two days and I've only three things to complete by Dec. 31 and then I start tabula rasa, latin for 'clean slate'-- all anew and determined. I have a list of things I've promised people and things I want to do that have not been done and the plan is to mark off something everyday.

First up is getting a ticket to see BB King. He was an hour away on Thursday. When I read that in the paper, I was like WHAT???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night he was in Albuquerque, three hours away. Went to his website and he'll be in Nashville in March so that's what I'm shooting for. 24 hours of overtime at the job and I was planning to get the digital camera, but that can wait.

Creative quote for 12-17-07

I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.

— Ernest Hemingway

Quote for 12-17=07

Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn one’s back on life.

- Eleanor Roosevelt

I got a moose

Not the moose I wanted, but I'm gonna take Stephen Stills' advice, more or less paraphrasingly, and if I can't have the moose I love, I'm gonna love the moose I got:)

Maya Kovskaya

Remember that name.

Not much writing

but close to 200 photos to sort through and continue submitting. However, I do have my first confirmed reading for 2008. Chicago in late Spring. Working on a return to Detroit so I can hop over into Ontario, Canada and do a reading (hopefully, hopefully, hopefully) at a bookstore there.

Other than that my life is quiet. Working though I'm looking for another job. Applied at the community college where I used to teach. Great pay and hours. Let's hope a class materializes for me.

I collect mooses, remember I told you that, but the one I wanted this season was sold out at Sears. The Sears here is a small store so a guy I work with who lives in El Paso was going to help me out and get one, but alas, there were none to be gotten :(

It rained today. Loved that. Two rainbows in the sky. Beautiful.
