Just in case

It was truly an adventure.

eventually. . .

I'll get back to this blog.  Concentrating on the writing and getting things done before the world ends next week or the year ends --whichever.

It's over!

Really, Mitt.  It is.

Goodbye.

You know what tomorrow is, right?

If this does not go a certain way, there's going to be A LOT of GOP/Tea baggers with exploding heads. Kinda like Dave Chapelle skit with the black KKK guy. Kinda like that in sooooo many ways. Remember to duck and carry towels.

Bob's wench for the weekend

Helped a friend at a Renaissance Faire. Lots of fun. Peasant shirt, corset (how the heck did women breathe?) and the whole shebang. Next week I've got an acting gig in a training film. A new experience!

Catch-up

I broke my wrist back in mid-June. Just got the cast off weeks ago and now I'm getting my fingers to work again. Stuff to share but using my limited computer usage to getting stories typed up as I could only work with paper and pen. But that was okay because I took more time with my work. Broke my wrist and got a lot more writing done. Go figure.

Let's make that 28-ISH days and counting

I have to be at my job (and it is only for the summer) by June 10th at the latest, May 28 at the earliest. Some things cropping up but I will not be deterred. I've been dreaming loons, pine trees and coastal life.
The last time I read in NY. Can't wait to go there again. DSC_3644

28 days and counting

Running around, running around. Saying goodbye, returning things. I'm so last minute but at least I'm predictable. An eye appt. Closing up the bear business in NM -paying the taxes. Reading and returning the library books. Get my hair cut again. Grandchildren to hug. The list is not endless, though, and everything I cross off gets me thismuchcloser to New England:)

The path (or arc) from broken to not-broken is painful but possible -- and worth walking. Or crawling. The beauty outweighs the pain. --Charles Martin

my days are numbered and all of a sudden everything is happening fast

Ive got to decide when I'm leaving. My new employer pays transportation so I don't have to worry about that. I have to go to Nashville and pick up some things I left. I have a list of things to do and people to see. . . I have to reserve the ABF truck by tomorrow or the quoted price disappears and that was pre-gas gouging prices. yikes! still I will be on the Northeast coast before I know it! That makes me happy. So very very very!!!

I hope this isn't bad of me, but. . .

there's a house I want to rent once I get to the east coast that's been available for awhile and I keep hoping it'll stay vacant a bit longer 'cause I really could see myself living there.

Boo-hoo! Nobody wants to play with me:(

My daughter turned me onto this game called "Scramble," which is like "Scrabble" but you can scramble the letters to make more words. Hence, the name. Several people have resigned after one round 'cause well, I'm ruthless when it comes to word games (though apparently there are words I don't know.) You can play on Facebook and my addictive need to find people to compete with almost makes me want to reopen a Facebook account. Almost.

I'm thisclose to a job

Two phone interviews today with two of the places I've sent resumes to. Like them both for different reasons. They both are doing background checks. I will probably have a job in New England by next week.

Sunday, February 26, 2012

This close. . . hopefully

I will have a phone interview tomorrow or Tuesday. Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully the job will pan out. It won't start til summer and it's not in the place I will eventually end up but it's in New England. . . and if I could just get somewhere in the ball park. . .

Applying for jobs in New England. One looks promising. I hope, I hope, I hope.

The IRS says it's working on getting e-filed returns back in 10 days or less! Excellent. Today I'm filing and am earmarking funds for a ONE-WAY TICKET. Eastbound.
I have found two places in New England that I love. One is a house and one is a HUGE apartment. But alas, I'm in New Mexico. I have been busy returning things and clearing energy so I can be like that alien in Independence Day -- "Release me." Come on, now. On the other side, though, still here I've run into people that I did need to see before I left. But still come on, now. It's time for me to hightail it outta here.

We will hold a place for you

So in Sept, when I was trying to figure out how to get to Vermont, I called and asked if I could push the residency back. They said yes. In October, I asked the same thing and they pushed it back again. Because financial issues were partly to blame for that, they increased my artist grant and gave me a 6-month payment plan to pay the balance. Then when the probate issues interrupted stuff, I was ready to forfeit the residency and called to tell them that but I was told I didn't have to lose it.

I have a year to reschedule. Yay!

Happy tabula rasa!

Another year!

They fly by fast when you're heading toward senior citizenship, heh heh.
