O. Henry Awards

Edward Jones' story "Old Boys, Old Girls" (from his recent collection "All Aunt Hagar's Children") was chosen.

It was a superb story. I didn't read "Young Lions," but it did really well standing by itself. There are plenty of people who think it was cheap, but I think he is a word craftsman when it comes to creating characters. He might not have really strong plots, but he's got great characters and they make up for it (he uses his characters to make his point, rather than a strong plot).
