A contest entry of mine was disqualified because it was written in present tense!!!! Where is it written that you HAVE TO use past tense? Show me where it says that. I like the immediacy of present tense -- is that a voilation of some writing commandment?
33 other writers saw their hopes of winning nixed because of grammer, typograpical errors, etc.
It wasn't a huge contest and the entry fee was less than what I spend in a vending machine in a day, but come on . . .
